The El Cortez is one of the most unique of Las Vegas hotels and casinos. Geared more towards the locals and less towards tourists, the El Cortez reviews all say it is a great place to visit. Open and operating continuously since 1941, the El Cortez is very unique in Vegas. The El Cortez has never changed its facade, and clings tenaciously to its historical atmosphere. At the same time, you’ll find modern amenities and wonderfully-reviewed fun at the El Cortez.

This old fashioned Las Vegas hotel and casino is located in historic downtown Las Vegas, 1 block from Neonopolis, 2 blocks from The Fremont Street Experience, and 2 miles from the Las Vegas Strip.
Hotel Features.
Dating from the 1940s, El Cortez’s original building was once owned by mobster Bugsy Siegel. Today, the hotel features a40,000 square foot casino with blackjack, craps, roulette, 3 card poker, video poker, sports book, and 1,100 slot machines. Extended multi race keno allows participants to play up to 1,000 consecutive games with 1 ticket.

The hotel offers complimentary transportation from the hotel to the airport Sunday through Friday (reservations for this service must be made at check in). Dining options include a 24 hour cafe, a steakhouse, fast food and coffee outlets, and room service. The casinos lounge bar features live piano entertainment. Amenities include a barbershop and a gift shop. High speed Internet access (surcharge) is available at a kiosk in the lobby and a reception area hot spot offers wireless Internet access (surcharge). Valet and self parking are complimentary.
Guestrooms.
Oversized guestrooms and suites at El Cortez Hotel and Casino are located in a 14 story tower, a 5 story pavilion, or on a walk up level above the casino floor. Tower rooms include separate seating areas with love seats, wing chairs, and coffee tables. Vintage rooms, above the casino, have been remodeled to reflect 1940s décor. Cabana Junior Suites offer 42 inch flat screen TVs and MP3 docking stations. All guestrooms offer cable TV and wireless Internet access (surcharge).
