Staying at the Mirage was like a vacation in itself. In spite of all that Las Vegas has to offer, there is no reason to even leave the hotel grounds. As we checked into our room, we were captivated by the beautifully colored fish and coral in the aquarium that runs the entire length of the front desk. During the day we swam under the waterfalls in the warm Mirage pool. Others went to Siegfried and Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat, but I was content to just swim.
The now closed Renoir Restaurant was mildly disappointing, not in the elegant room, with Renoir paintings on the wall, but, although the food was tasty, at over $300 per plate, I expected to walk out full, rather than hungry. Closing the restaurant, though, will be a loss, just because it may not be easy to come by original Renoir paintings elsewhere. Another restaurant, Kokomo’s, was more reasonably priced and had great food. And, the atmosphere was wonderful; it felt like we were eating in a tropical rain forest.
After dinner, don’t miss the volcano that erupts outside every night. All in all, the Mirage was a wonderful stay for us.

Definitely my favorite hotel that I’ve been to in Vegas. If you like the feeling of the Caribbean, Hawaii, or a tropical rainforest, this is the place!
